Certified Carbon Literacy Training

Delivered by: Keep Northern Ireland Beautiful

The Carbon Literacy Project is a United Nations recognised body that sets an agreed international standard for Carbon Literacy training programmes and act as the certificate awarding body.
Why Get Involved?

We are living through a climate emergency, and time is running out to prevent the worst impacts of a rapidly warming planet. Urgent action is essential, but so too is understanding the issues and gaining the confidence to talk about them.

Carbon Literacy Programmes offer:

  • Knowledge, skills, and confidence to engage with climate science, climate justice, and carbon footprints.
  • Ready-to-use resources to spark meaningful conversations, ease climate anxiety, and inspire action.
  • Accredited certification from the Carbon Literacy Project, showcasing a professional commitment to tackling climate change.

By the end of each course, you will have explored:

  • the basics of climate change science
  • how climate change has greater impact on vulnerable groups in our communities
  • the impacts and risks of climate change for Northern Ireland and regions across the globe
  • how governments have responded to the climate emergency at a global and local level
  • specific ways that you as an individual and your local community can make changes to reduce carbon emissions and improve the lives of current and future generations
  • resources and networks that connect communities in developing climate action projects

This CERTIFIED Carbon Literacy Training is exclusive and free for employees of Linen Quarter BID member organisations. To book a seat for this training, please contact [email protected] (Sustainable District Manager, LQ BID)

Most notably, Carol was invited to give a key note address to the United Nations General Assembly at their Circular Economy event, in October 2018.
