RE[shaping] Tourism: Sustainable Tourism Best Practice

November 13

Re[imagine] Belfast’s tourism industry through inspiring stories from organisations leading the way. As the desire to travel more sustainably grows, visitors increasingly expect tourism businesses to adopt greener practices. However, embedding sustainability throughout a tourism business has its challenges. In this panel discussion you will hear from local tourism businesses, large and small, who have innovative solutions to sustainability that have a positive sustainable impact and have also saved the company money or generated income by attracting new clients.

Led by Visit Belfast, this panel discussion will look at how tourism businesses in Belfast have embraced the circular economy, embedded ESG solutions and implemented measures to reduce their carbon footprint. We will explore the financial impacts of these changes from upfront investment to longer term pay back and the potential for attracting new clients.

Many tourism businesses face the same challenges, and this discussion will look at how the industry can share learnings to accelerate sustainable best practice. By collaborating, the tourism industry has an opportunity to reduce our environmental impact, increase social impact for our communities and improved Belfast and Northern Ireland’s competitive position as a renowned sustainable destination.
