RE[vamp] your fashion wardrobe through this hands-on workshop to explore the true cost of fast-fashion. Fast fashion’s impact on our planet is profound, affecting resource use, waste generation, pollution, labour exploitation, and climate change. In this workshop, learn creative ways to repurpose old clothes into unique and stylish pieces.
In partnership with Climate Craic, a homegrown initiative bringing people together to celebrate the positive strides we’re making in climate action, this session is designed to leave you with new skills to revitalise your wardrobe ready for the next runway!
AM Session: Before the workshop, we will be screening Northern Ireland Screen’s “A Stitch Through Time”, a show where four young designers face fashion challenges. In celebration of sustainable fashion, in this episode, designers will first transform pre-loved men’s shirts into catwalk-worthy dresses. They will then take on a six-hour challenge, drawing inspiration from Ulster’s rich tradition of Ayrshire whitework, intricate embroidery, upcycling, and patchwork quilting.
PM Session: Will begin with a presentation from RESPONSIBLE. RESPONSIBLE is a pioneering tech company at the forefront of circularity, transforming how brands, retailers, and marketplaces engage with resale. This talk will introduce their latest product, the Haru App — the quickest way to turn your clothes into cash.
By harnessing the power of RESPONSIBLE’s technology, the app will bring circularity directly to the hands of consumers.
