In partnership with Butterfly Conservation, we’re calling for volunteers to manage butterfly species records and create good biodiversity data for Belfast city and wider NI.

Whether you’re already good at spotting butterflies in your local park or simply fancy learning something new, this workshop is for you. Discover how wildlife records are collected, checked and turned into valuable biodiversity data for Belfast and Northern Ireland.

In partnership with NI Screen, Belfast Healthy Cities and the NI Commissioner for Children and Young People, this transgenerational filmmaking project brings two generations together to explore how Belfast’s green spaces have changed; what’s been lost, what’s improved and what could come next.

Participants will share stories, learn filmmaking and interview skills, and explore the connections between people, place and nature. The project will create a lasting archive of films, while encouraging environmental awareness and imagining greener spaces for everyone.

The Repair Project offers a drop-in session between 12 and 2pm.
Visitors are invited to contribute to a collective artwork by sewing, darning or embellishing shared materials.
The focus is on the value of repair, the longevity of everyday items and the role of small, practical actions in supporting more sustainable habits.

Critical infrastructure — from electricity and water to transport — underpins the delivery of essential public services and keeps communities connected, and enables housing, enterprise and long-term economic growth.

While new infrastructure delivers benefits for society as a whole, the communities asked to host new infrastructure or live through lengthy construction programmes can disruption, uncertainty and a sense of disconnection from the decision-making process.

This session will explore the scale of critical infrastructure needed to support Northern Ireland’s future, improve public services and unlock economic opportunity. It will also consider why meaningful engagement with the communities most affected by new plans must be central to building trust, securing support and delivering infrastructure successfully.
